The Teacher’s Digital Library is a virtual platform with didactic materials for using film in the classroom, aligned with the Curriculum Framework of the Republic of Kosovo. This library is designed to be a rich and easily accessible resource for public school teachers in Kosovo.
For seven consecutive years, DokuFest has been at the forefront of efforts to integrate audiovisual tools into the teaching process, training hundreds of teachers from across Kosovo. Through these trainings and interactive sessions, educators learn how to use films and digital media to foster interactive learning and make education more innovative.
Through innovative programs and collaborations with field experts, DokuFest has contributed to transforming traditional teaching methods by equipping educators with practical skills and tools to enhance the quality of education. This program aims to make learning more engaging and effective for students, helping them understand and critically analyze information through the language of imagery and visual storytelling.
Our program on the use of audiovisual tools in teaching has expanded beyond Kosovo’s borders. Educators from our country have successfully transferred their knowledge to teachers in Montenegro and Albania, as part of our partnership with colleagues from film festivals such as UnderHill Fest in Montenegro and Korça Short Film Festival in Albania. These trainings have been highly successful, and we are delighted that teachers in these countries are now using the Teacher's Digital Library.
The Teacher’s Digital Library is a virtual platform with didactic materials for using film in the classroom, aligned with the Curriculum Framework of the Republic of Kosovo. This library is designed to be a rich and easily accessible resource for public school teachers in Kosovo. The platform includes films and facilitator guides based on international models, adapted to our educational curricula. We have contributed with a rich archive of around 200 films produced over the past 15 years. Created by young people for young people, these films address various social and educational topics, offering students a fresh and unique perspective. Meanwhile, with the help of teachers who have participated in the training workshops, around 190 worksheets have been created as didactic materials, all aligned with the Curriculum Framework of the Republic of Kosovo. Approximately 500 teachers have registered to use this platform. By signing up, they gain unlimited access to these resources, all of which are offered free of charge..
For over five years, in collaboration with the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, we have organized workshops for teachers from all communities in Kosovo. These workshops focus on developing skills for the effective use and integration of media and information literacy in the teaching process, fostering critical thinking and equipping educators with new teaching tools and techniques.
DokuFest will continue its commitment to empowering educators with innovative methods, aiming to bring new experiences, expand its impact, and offer advanced training to an even larger number of teachers, supporting the integration of audiovisual tools in schools.
Our program is based on the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, for the use of the platform "Teacher’s Digital Library," which is licensed by the State Council for Teacher Licensing. All teachers participating in the workshops are provided with certificates that include accreditation points for licensure.
