DokuFest, Slobodna Zona Film Festival and Slobodna Zona Junior invite young people aged 18 to 25 from Serbia and Kosovo…
The activities of this exchange program aim to unite young people through intensive cooperation and teamwork, active participation in lectures and discussions as well as cultural visits to heritage sites. “How Do I See You?” welcomes applications from all young people (18-25 yrs.), regardless of gender, disability, marital or parental status, racial, ethnic or social origin, color, religion, belief or sexual orientation.
From June 22-27 we organized the first intercultural exchange camp between young people from Kosovo and Serbia, in Serbia. Young's had the opportunity, in addition to visits to various organizations, galleries and museums, to spend a large part of their time learning about each other. At the end all of these activities were wrapped up with visual portraits realized through conversation between young people focusing on the aspect of opposing the harsh media narrative that creates prejudices and stereotypes towards each other. The interviews will be curated as a digital exhibition that will be launched during the XX edition of DokuFest from 6-14 August in Prizren.
The audio-visual works of the participants from Kosovo and Serbia were presented in the exhibition ‘HDISY’ in August of year 2021 during the jubilee edition of DokuFest. Many present had the opportunity to listen closely to the videos of young people in the form of audiovisual portraits and to converse with them. Through the project activities, the young people during the meetings in the intercultural camp in Kosovo and Serbia had the opportunity to get to know each other through art and culture in a space free from the language of hatred and mutual prejudice. During the start of the project, the activities, among other things, helped these young people in promoting and creating narratives that address the intercultural issues faced by young people in Serbia and Kosovo through a space where ideas are exchanged and different opinions are respected, which is based on mutual respect. The second generation of the intercultural camp exchange will continue their journey with audiovisual stories at the 17th edition of the Free Zone festival in Belgrade, in November this year.
