DokuFest Wraps up the D:Fict Project

In June, DokuFest carried out the third phase of the D:Fict project, this time shifting its focus towards AR/VR Storytelling.

The workshop was led by Jérémy Laurichesse, a french producer who has collaborated with DokuFest for some years now during the festival.  His focus this time was equiping the students with advanced knowledge in immersive storytelling, using aurgmented and virtual reality technologies.

The workshops started with a short introduction to VR basics and a series of VR film screenings, where participants reflected on different approaches to narratives through brainstorming exercises. This was then followed by the second part of the workshop on writing for VR, encouraging students to rethink traditional storytelling structures and adapt them to engaging surroundings.

In the afternoon we moved into practical exercises, including staging the story they created in virtual spaces, experimenting with 360° filming.

Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in both theoretical and practical components, gradually working towards a final project that would integrate AR/VR techniques and immersive storytelling.

The third D:Fict training did not only educate participants about the technological side of AR/VR but also creativity and interactivity, enabling them to discover alternative forms of narrative communication.

This project is implemented in collaboration with the Innovation and Training Park in Prizren and GIZ Kosovo.

"The use of audiovisual tools in teaching has helped me, as a teacher, not only to achieve the results and objectives planned during a lesson but also to be one step closer to reaching the competencies defined by the Kosovo Curricular Framework."
