Call for Applications Re-Connect: Exploring Identity Through Collaborative Filmmaking

An initiative by DokuFest & Kino Kosova

Are you between the ages of 18 and 22?

Are you part of the Kosovar diaspora in Switzerland or currently living in Kosovo and eager to explore your cultural identity through the power of film?

DokuFest, in collaboration with Kino Kosova, is launching Re-Connect, a brand-new initiative designed to bring together young creatives from Kosovo and the diaspora.

What is Re-Connect?
Re-Connect is a collaborative filmmaking program that offers a hands-on, unique learning experience in documentary storytelling. Through a blend of workshops, lectures, and group filmmaking, participants will explore themes of identity, shared heritage, human rights, and cultural diversity. You will gain practical skills in storytelling, cinematography, sound, editing, and ethical filmmaking.

The program will be held in English.

What’s included?
Participation in Re-Connect is free of charge.
All travel, accommodation, and meals are fully covered for selected participants.
We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, especially those from marginalized or underrepresented communities.

 

Who can apply?
We are looking for:
Young people aged 18–22
From the Kosovar diaspora in Switzerland or based in Kosovo
Curious about their roots and open to collaborative, creative learning
No prior filmmaking experience is required – just your passion and perspective

 

What to expect?
A 2-week filmmaking workshop in Prizren 8-21 June 2025
Mentorship from experienced filmmakers from Kosovo and the diaspora
Collaborative creation of short documentary films
Cultural immersion and new friendships
Premiere of your film at DokuFest 2025
