DokuFest, in partnership with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission in Kosovo, is organizing four one-day workshops on Media and Information Literacy for teachers in lower and upper secondary schools.

These workshops are designed to help teachers from all communities in Kosovo develop the skills necessary for effectively integrating media and information education into their teaching practices, fostering critical thinking, and equipping them with new instructional tools and techniques.

The training will highlight the importance of assessing trustworthy sources, fact-checking, and developing skills to become more mindful consumers of digital media as well as the development of skills for deciphering complex media messages, including specific gender-related issues. Through innovative methods and interactive platforms, teachers will learn how to enhance student engagement in the classroom. The workshops will be led and facilitated by eminent university professors in Kosovo.

The number of participants is limited. The program will offer training for 60 teachers in Kosovo, divided into four one-day workshops with 15 participants each. The workshops will be organized in Prizren on November 16, 17, 23, and 24, 2024. Before the training begins, each participant will complete a preliminary questionnaire to assess their initial knowledge, and ongoing evaluations will be conducted to track their progress throughout the workshop.

The workshop will be held in Albanian language with simultaneous translation into Turkish and Serbian language.

All participating teachers in the workshop will be provided with certificates including accrediting points for licensing.
