DokuFest, in collaboration with UNICEF, is introducing a series of innovative projects aimed at empowering young people through storytelling, filmmaking, and civic engagement. These initiatives will provide youth with the tools and platforms to creatively express themselves while addressing critical social issues, Empowering Youth: DokuFest and UNICEF Launch YESS Project for Storytelling and Filmmaking.
One of the central projects is the development of 10 Short Human Interest Stories. In partnership with UNICEF, this initiative will involve approximately 250 students from 11 target municipalities, offering them hands-on training in storytelling, photography, and cinematography. The training, organized at the municipal level, will take place over two days and include practical exercises to help students master these skills.
In addition to the storytelling basics, students will benefit from post-production editing training, allowing them to finalize their films with the help of continuous support from the DokuFest team.
The project will run from October 2024 to April 2025, and it is designed to inspire creativity, empower youth, and foster civic engagement. By equipping young people with these valuable skills, DokuFest and UNICEF aim to encourage self-expression and storytelling that addresses important social issues, ultimately driving positive change in their communities.
These youth-focused initiatives align with DokuFest's broader mission to nurture creativity and empower the next generation of filmmakers and artists, making a meaningful impact on Kosovo’s cultural and social landscape.
