CONNECTING DOTS: Call for Researchers

We are proud to announce the launch of “Connecting Dots: Exploring Shared Film Heritage”, a joint initiative of Beldocs and DokuFest. Connecting Dots is a part of the “Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans” a project funded by the European Union, that aims to foster dialogue in the Western Balkans by enhancing the cultural and creative sectors for increased socio-economic impact.

Connecting Dots is not just about exploring film history—it’s about documenting the pulse of a society through its cinematic expression.

As a part of this project, we are calling on researcher-artists, filmmakers, and scholars from Kosovo and Serbia to engage in a comprehensive analysis of Yugoslav film heritage. Our residency program offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in archival research, engage with like-minded professionals, and produce scholarly work that will be celebrated at our renowned festivals.

**What Will You Do?**

Your journey will include a 2-4 week research residency, where you’ll sift through historical footage, engage in discussions with the cinephile community, and develop outputs that encapsulate your discoveries. Your work will contribute to the exhibitions at DokuFest and Beldocs festivals, adding to the rich discourse on film and culture.

**Who Are We Looking For?**

We seek individuals with an advanced degree in Film Studies, History, Cultural Studies, or a related field, demonstrated experience in research, and a profound understanding of the cultural and historical context of the Yugoslav film industry.

**How to Apply?**

To apply, submit your CV, a cover letter, and two samples of your previous research work by 20 December 2023. Evaluation will be based on qualifications and potential to contribute to the project’s goals.
